Australian Merino Lambskin Baby Rug

Our beautiful Naturally Sheepskins lambskin baby rugs are sourced from the Australian Merino sheep which are renowned for having the finest & softest wool in the world. The wool has been shorn to a short length & is specially tanned & sanitised providing a safe, natural & healthy place for babies to rest & play.

Unlike synthetic fibres, natural lambs wool is breathable & helps to regulate temperature, ensuring your little one is comfortable year-round.

The soft, dense wool is a wonderful tactile element to help your child with sensory development. The texture of the wool fibres provides interest for little hands & can be a great tummy-time motivator. Or lay it under a play gym for extra softness & comfort whilst your little one practices reaching & grabbing.

Note: Our lambskins are all free from harmful chemicals & dyes making them safe and suitable for your baby’s skin. As this is a natural product, no two pieces will be the same in colour, wool height or shape.

Baby-safe

The wool has been shorn to a short length and dyed in accordance with international standards making it perfectly safe for your baby.

(Note: as we don’t use any harsh chemicals such as bleach our sheepskins are a natural golden colour and not white/ivory)

Temperature regulating

Studies have shown that babies settle faster and sleep longer on a sheepskin. Not only are they soft and cosy against the skin, but they also help regulate body temperature which in turn can help them relax and rest more comfortably and for longer.

(Note: in accordance with safe sleep guidelines it is recommended that babies under 12 months are not left to sleep on a sheepskin unsupervised)

Cleaning and Caring for your Sheepskin

Sheepskins are easy to maintain as they are naturally stain and dirt resistant and therefore do not require regular cleaning.

We recommend that you frequently shake & air your sheepskin & brush it with a soft brush to restore its full & fluffy appearance & lustre.

For light soiling, spot clean with a damp cloth.

For heavier soiling you can either hand or machine wash your sheepskin at no more than 30 degrees Celsius on a gentle wool cycle. We recommend using a sheepskin detergent so the leather doesn’t harden.

Dry out of direct sunlight in an airy place.

Lightly brush and stretch your sheepskin after drying.
