Send It Off To Our Lab
Post your sample using the pre-paid unbranded and discreet mailing bag to our UKAS accredited lab. You can post this in any Postbox, at a Post Office, or Royal Mail sorting office
Online Results In 48 Hours
Secure online results are usually available within 48 working hours of our lab receiving it. Our aftercare medical team are always at the end of the phone should you have any questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I get an exact reading or just normal/abnormal?
Our test will provide an exact reading of the amount of blood detected (if any) in your stool. We currently use the symptomatic threshold of 10μg/g or above to report any abnormal results in line with NICE DG30 guidelines
Do I need to fast before taking the test?
No, unlike other screening tests, such as the guaiac fecal occult blood test (FOBT), there are no dietary or medication restrictions and only one bowel movement (sample) is required for testing.
How accurate is this test?
Although no test is 100% accurate, the FIT test is highly accurate, particularly for symptomatic patients, and is recommended by NICE.
Can I take the test if I have haemorrhoids?
You can still take this test if you have piles (haemorrhoids). We recommended you wait until there is no bleeding to reduce the chance of a false positive FIT result.
