Product Description
The Mishran Range
The MISHRAN Rug is a bright, cheerful rug, produced with multi coloured recycled fabrics and sustainable jute. A delightful choice and by using random materials we ensure that every rug is unique.
These lovely products are hand woven by skilled artisan weavers. Strips of material are braided and stitched together in narrow stripes. The result is a rustic flat weave rug around a centimetre in thickness. This makes them ideal for placement under furniture as well as in an open room. Look out for the authentic GoodWeave label, and the unique number, which gives you confidence that your rug has been ethically sourced from a closed network of high quality producers.
The rugs are reversible and they can be rolled up when not in use. They can be shaken or spot cleaned.
There are several sizes to choose from – small, medium and large versions. Make sure you check out our different shape listings too! The Fiesta comes in Round, Rectangle, Square and Oval.
Earning the Goodweave Label
Increasingly, consumers and governments demand transparent supply chains and production free from exploitative labor practices. The GoodWeave label on our products demonstrates that our business meets these market requirements.
The GoodWeave label means that no child, forced or bonded labor was used in the making of a recognised product, and that your purchase supports programs that educate children and ensure decent work for adults.
No machinery is used in the production of Second Nature Online rugs and our items are hand woven on traditional flat weave looms. Our partnership with Goodweave helps to fund local education centres, keeping children in schools.

Second Nature Online
Love is the Rug here at Second Nature Online. No matter how much our products have evolved and diversified over the years, rugs have always been our heart’s desire. There are many beautifully crafted pieces out there and we have travelled far and wide to find the perfect ranges.
Our rugs are mostly flat woven on traditional wooden hand looms and there is no machinery involved. We specialise in rag rugs, braided rugs, kilims and dhurries.
MISHRAN RUG RANGE – is named after its meaning in Hindi. “Mixture” or “Blend” is the perfect description of these beautiful rugs. Hand loomed in India, the Mishran rug will bring you a mix of natural sustainable jute interwoven with brightly coloured recycled fabrics. The style of weave is an attractive braided design. Please note that since every rug is hand woven with a mix of natural and random materials, they may vary from the photographs shown.
CHOOSE FROM FIVE SIZES. If you are looking to mix and match a little, then you will find five sizes to choose from. A small 60 cm x 90 cm and 75 cm x 120 cm; a medium 90 cm x 150 cm; a large 120 cm x 180 cm and a long runner in 60 cm x 180 cm. See our other listings for round, oval and square versions of the Mishran.
ETHICALLY SOURCED – Produced by one of our favourite GoodWeave suppliers and part of a closed network of certified producers. Each rug is individually numbered so that you can be sure of its unique handling and its ethical source. Our certification fees help to fund premises inspection and education centres for children and young people.
ECO-FRIENDLY – Made with two eco-friendly materials: sustainable jute and recycled fabric offcuts. Jute comes from one of the fastest growing plant types and its long, strong fibres make it ideal for weaving. Recycled fabrics are offcuts from the garment industry which would otherwise have gone to waste. Energy efficient too – the flat weave style is hand woven on a traditional loom and no machinery is involved.
CARE OF YOUR RUG – The finished piece is reversible meaning that it can be rolled up when not in use. It can be shaken, or spot cleaned if necessary. If placing on a hard floor with heavy footfall, then you may wish to use rug mesh or similar to hold the rug in place. Take care to avoid colour transfer if the rug becomes damp or in contact with sensitive surfaces.
